Towable vs portable generator rental: who rents what
Portable and inverter units suit homes, RVs and small events; towable (trailer-mounted) units are what rental yards bring to jobsites and large events. Here is who mentions each, by metro, based on what their own websites say.
| Metro | Providers | Mention towable | Mention portable / inverter | State 150 kW+ |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Los Angeles | 51 | 29 | 30 | 34 |
| Miami | 41 | 14 | 15 | 22 |
| Tampa Bay | 38 | 22 | 23 | 31 |
| Atlanta | 39 | 16 | 18 | 23 |
| Houston | 62 | 30 | 33 | 55 |
“Mention” means the word appears in a sentence about generators on the provider’s website. A missing mention means not stated, not “not offered”.
